Going 9-5

What a way to start a season.

Cubbies bats awaken early even with Soriano placed on the DL. And despite the wind blowing out, Zambrano is masterful.

Through the first three innings, the meat of the Cubs order, batters 3-6 had this line.

5-6 1 HR, 2 2Bs, 5 RBI, 3 BB, HBP, 7 RS

That's what you like from the middle of your lineup.

The Cubs had 4 in the first, and really that is all that they would have needed as they go on to win 12-3 and run the record to 9-5.

Roy O finally gets it in gear and gets his first win of the season, can Ted Lilly do the same for the Cubbies today?

WSH 2 NYM 5 F

ATL 5 FLA 6 F

MIL 4 STL 5 F

COL 10 SD 2 F

PIT 1 LAD 8 F

As mentioned up in the scores section, Ted Lilly will be on the hill for the Cubs today, looking for his first strong start of the season. The Reds counter with the young star in the making Edinson Volquez who the Reds aquired from the Rangers for Josh Hamilton a deal that might actually work out well for both teams.

Enjoy the rest of today's games.
